Learn how to export preview HTML documents from Exocad DentalCAD, upload files securely, configure output scale dimensions, and align STL coordinates for immediate slicer importing.
1. Generating Exocad Previews
To extract high-fidelity 3D meshes, you must generate a web-compatible HTML preview from within your Exocad DentalCAD dental design workspace:
- In the final restoration design screen of DentalCAD, navigate to the active work menu.
- Select the Save Preview HTML or Web Link preview option.
- Ensure Embed 3D meshes is checked. This packages the geometric coordinates directly inside the file so they can be securely extracted.
2. Document Structure Compliance
Exo2STL isolates three-dimensional components encoded in standard **CTM (Compressed Triangle Mesh)** or OBJ data wrappers within Svelte or HTML templates:
- • Supported Formats: .html, .htm
- • Embedded Nodes: Base64 or plain-text array buffers
- • Secure Sandboxing: Clean, stateless coordinate parsing
3. Mesh Extraction and Scaling
Once uploaded, the engine strips the active HTML container tags, decodes coordinate compression algorithms, and maps raw vertices and triangles into fully formed standard STL solid facets.
If your default dental CAD operates on non-standard coordinate environments, configure your multiplier scaling parameters inside the Settings Panel.
4. Printer Slicer Importing
The final downloaded ZIP archive contains perfectly aligned, independent STL solid files representing the upper jaw, lower jaw, crowns, waxups, or custom implants:
For direct clinical production, import files into **ChituBox**, **PreForm**, or other SLA/DLP printing slicing applications. Ensure your model is aligned flat relative to the print plate platform to guarantee optimal adhesion.
